Theo đề xuất của Sở Kế hoạch và Đầu tư, UBND TP.HCM chấp thuận chủ trương gia hạn thời gian hoàn thành công trình dự án đầu tư xây dựng cầu Thủ Thiêm 2.

Thời gian gia hạn đến ngày 9/9/2021 do ảnh hưởng của công tác bồi thường giải phóng mặt bằng.

Dự án cầu Thủ Thiêm 2, kết nối quận 1 với khu đô thị Thủ Thiêm (quận 2), được khởi công vào tháng 2/2015. Ở phía quận 1, cầu Thủ Thiêm 2 được xây dựng tại đường Tôn Đức Thắng, giáp Nhà máy đóng tàu Ba Son thuộc Tổng công ty Ba Son.

Với tổng chiều dài 1,4km, cầu Thủ Thiêm sau khi hoàn thành sẽ giúp giảm kẹt xe ở giao lộ giữa đường Tôn Đức Thắng và Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh.

Theo kế hoạch, công trình dự kiến hoàn thành vào tháng 4/2018. Tuy nhiên, đến nay dự án đang chậm tiến độ do đơn vị thi công không có mặt bằng.

Ngoài dự án cầu Thủ Thiêm 2, UBND TP.HCM cũng chấp thuận gia hạn thời gian hoàn thành công trình dự án đầu tư xây dựng 4 tuyến đường chính trong Khu đô thị mới Thủ Thiêm do ảnh hưởng của công tác bồi thường giải phóng mặt bằng.

Thành phố cho biết sẽ bàn giao mặt bằng trống cho nhà đầu tư thi công trước ngày 31/12/2020.
